ANZAC Day opening
The Entrance Men’s Shed will not be open on ANZAC Day 2010. Shed members also voted not to open for an extra Wednesday in lieu of the holiday. The shed will however be open Friday 23 April, and Friday 30 April. All shed members wish the community a happy ANZAC Day break.
Community Centre cafe open
The Cafe at The Entrance Community Centre opened today, serving its first cup of coffee to customers. The Cafe is a community venture with students providing the labor (under supervision) to operate the facility. They are currently learning hospitality training with Breakthru: People Solutions. Shed members have recently installed new blinds on the front windows of the shed. These blinds should help keep the strong summer sun out of the shed as well as keeping more warmth in the shed during winter. Horizon noticeboards
Horizons Family Services recently approached The Entrance Men’s Shed for some help with fixing their noticeboard and calendar to the office walls. Shed member Tubby volunteered to help out and had both boards installed in no time.
Men’s shed shirts and caps
A note to members at The Entrance Men’s Shed: the original supply of “The Entrance Men’s Shed” caps is now fully allocated. They have proved very popular, as have the labelled T-Shirts. A new stock of T-shirts arrived today in sizes from L – XXL.
Perfect Pete
