Shed members have been working on a variety of interesting projects during the last months of 2012. Here’s a selection of our work.

On the 30th October shed member Bob travelled to Canberra to the “Blokes Big BBQ” on the front lawns of Parliament House. The BBQ was very well attended with John Sharples and Bob representing the Central Coast. While on a trip to the ACT, shed member Bob took the opportunity to visit the Yass Valley Men’s Shed on the 1/11/2012. Bob was made very welcome there, with lunch and a tour of their excellent shed setup. Here’s some memories of the visit.

During October 2012, the Entrance Men’s Shed was visited by the Secretary of the Yass Valley Men’s Shed (yassmensshed.org.au) Wayne Stuart. We’d like to highlight the excellent work being done at this shed and wish them all the best for the future.

The Entrance Men’s Shed has two events coming up this month: A sausage sizzle and garage sale will be held at the Shed (The Entrance Community Centre, Battley Ave, The Entrance, NSW). Shed members recently paid a visit to Killarney Vale Nursing Home for a morning tea and the official opening of our recently completed project “Tubby’s Cubby”. Here’s some images of the day.

Shed members recently held their 2012 AGM on the 20th of July 2012. Shed members have recently been working on a cubby-house for the grounds of the Killarney Vale Nursing Home. The cubby-house has become known as “Tubby’s Cubby” after shed member Tubby. Here’s some images of the final construction and transport of the cubby-house.

On the 21st of June 2012 members of the Mannering Park Men’s Shed paid a visit to the Entrance Men’s Shed. After an enjoyable morning together and a sausage sizzle, shed members are looking forward to a paying a return visit to Mannering Park. Here’s some memories of the visit.

During May 2012 shed members have been busy constructing a cubby-house for the Killarney Vale Nursing Home. Shed member Bruce (“Tubby”) is officer-in-charge and he has been assisted by “apprentice” shed member Rob. Shed member Bruce recently completed a wooden model of a low-loader (truck) and grader. Bruce reports this project required patience and skill!

Fom Wednesday 1st February, 2012 the shed will trial an extra opening day on Wednesdays. This is in addition to our usual opening days of Mondays and Fridays.
