Pedal power
Following a successful “all-terrain shopping trolley” project, shed member Andrew has been restoring the pedals on another wheeled vehicle–a small bike. After some threading and adjustments to the pedals he was ready to try it out within the confines of the Community Centre. Test monitoring was provided by shed member Peter. Excellent recycling effort Andrew!
New utility cupboard
Shed members were wondering what Andrew has been building on two sawhorses in the centre of the shed. It turns out it’s a purpose-built outdoor utility cupboard, which fits perfectly into the available space.

A reminder on PPE
Just a quick reminder to shed members that PPE is provided at every fixed machine in the shed and you are required to use it. Please clean earmuffs before and after use with the wet wipes provided.
Timber table restoration
Shed member Chris has been buy sanding back this solid old table. Chris was planning to stain it up at home (away from the dust in The Shed environment). Terry’s stylish timber find

Community nursery fence
Shed member Andrew has been hard at work today finishing off fence extensions for the Bateau Bay Community Nursery. The extensions will fit over the existing fence posts raising the height of the fence. Wire can then be strung through the extensions allowing climbing plants to grow over the fences.
Learning while doing
Shed member Tubby took some time after the toolbox meeting this morning to demonstrate the safe operation of the shed thicknesser. Men’s Sheds typically have members with a wide variety of skills: from those who have worked extensively in industry, to those that have some experience, through to complete novices.
